Welcome!

This little blog started on our wedding website, which kept family and friends up to date on the planning and details. Of course this is where we will provide all of the recaps of the wedding and everything after. We look forward to keeping family and friends up to date on our lives here in Texas and all of the adventures we share as newlyweds!

To Dos for the Weekend

I know it's New Years weekend-but lets be honest....between working and school Rene and I really just look forward to lazy weekends and this is just like the rest!  Though we did grab 2 bottles of bubbles to celebrate the new year.  Fun fact--enough New Years Eve back at UCF was really the start of our relationship when we rang in the new year together in 2006! So this marks the 6 year mark of our relationship too!

Anyhow...I've created a bit of a crafty to do list of things that I want to make/try this weekend.

First and foremost if you remember a previous post Pinteresting Thursday on a Friday I had 2 items that I wanted to make. 1. the cape and 2. the little Christmas trees made from holiday cards--both of these will be made this weekend (hopefully)...

Next up is a little treat for New Years eve....Pizza Monkey Bread...yes another Pinterest find!

Doesn't it look tasty?

I'll also be trying my hand at homemade pasta tonight compliments of my new pasta maker from Rene!
Get ready for some follow up posts this weekend about all these great little creations!
Happy Friday!

Flying High Saturday

I'm currently aboard AirTran flight 105 to Atlanta for Kimberly's Engagement party!! I'll admit that I am a bit tired after having to wake up at 5am this morning to get ready and get to the airport for my 8am flight but flying business class isn't so bad...though I did have a bit of a panic attack on my drive to the airport.

I forgot my camera!! I plugged it into the computer USB last night to make sure it was fully charged and planned on grabbing it when I checked my flight gate this morning, sad to say that I forgot that in my tired haze.

So after a short panic while half way to the airport this morning I figured I had 2 options, #1 I can have Kim stop off at a Target/Walmart and see what kind of deals I can find on a super basic digital camera, or option #2 I can just use Kim's camera and make sure that all the pictures end up on my jump drive or Facebook before I head home. Small drama but I'll make it work!

Oh yea and I decided on the tan and green dress for tonight. It seemed to be the favorite!

I'll be spending this morning's flight working on homework (boooo) so that I can try to enjoy my time in Atlanta without stressing about the million and one other things that I need to get done this weekend. Time to get started on everything!

Have a wonderful Saturday!!

It's Friday!!

It’s Friday Whooo-hoo! Tomorrow I get to take a little overnight trip to Atlanta to celebrate the engagement of my good friend and sorority sister Kimberly!

She’ll be getting married in April and I am honored to be a bridesmaid.

While I wish I could stay longer than 1 night with work and school it’s just not possible however it will be a wonderful time I am sure! And what’s better? I got to upgrade my flight tomorrow morning to business class-gotta love starting the morning off with free drinks and free checked luggage! It's so sad that in November AirTran won't be flying from Dallas-Fort Worth anymore, there goes my cheap first class flights!

Now if I could just figure out what to wear for the engagement party…I’ve narrowed it down to 2 dresses….the gray one doesn’t look great on a hanger but super cute when it’s actually on (I wore it to our Christmas party last year but I don’t have ANY pictures!) and then the green one still has the tags on it, I haven’t had a chance to wear it yet so this would be a

perfect opportunity!!

Fall Fashion

With the fall weather this morning it was time for another cool weather inspired outfit!

Skirt with belt from H&M, Perfect Long Sleeve T-shirt from JCrew and Scarf (can't remember where this even came from)...and of course riding boots (not pictured).

I love getting to wear new outfits as the seasons change!!

Cold Outside--but not "really"

There’s a little chill in the air today in Dallas. I walked outside today planning on throwing on a sundress since it had been in the 90’s still but was surprised to see that it was only about 65 degrees outside—that means fall clothes!!

So I changed out my ballet flats for boots and threw on a belt and cardigan and was ready to go!

**Not having Rene at home to help with pictures is no fun! I have to rely on the self portrait in the mirror-also bathroom lighting is not very flattering at all!**

Everyone should have at least one pair of riding boots or flat boots for the fall! They give your summer dresses a second life!

Here’s hoping this weekend is cooler too since Rene and I plan to go over to Grapevine for Grapefest on Saturday. We haven’t been there for 2 years but the first year it was super hot and still a ton of fun! I am praying for a little bit cooler weather for sure for a relaxing afternoon-we could sure use it!

Husband of the Year!

I've got to brag a bit! Rene is A-MAZE-ING!

He ventured out to Target for me while out of town for work and hit a gold mine of untouched Missoni x Target goodies compared to what we have in Dallas!! He pulled pretty much every medium (hopefully they aren't too big, I was afraid small would be too small) and sent me pictures that I got to say "yes" or "no" to I am super excited for Friday!!

What will I be trying on from the personal shopper?

Clockwise from top: Sweater and Dress , Ballet flats, black pumps, retro dress and polo style dress (not pictured)--Love it all!

Total damage...a little more than $300 (whoops) but come on Ebay re-sell value is way more than that! LOL - Like I told Rene I'll only keep the ones I like in person...he suggested I keep them all?! Clearly he doesn't help my spending habits!

Big time brownie points for this Rene!!

Date Night

I love date night! Especially when it means a delicious dinner and finding a super cute dress marked down from $195 to $30 on clearance!!

Got to love Nordstrom's Rack for amazing finds like this! The dress even had a cute little train off the back, super fun and I can hopefully wear it into the fall season too!
Hope that you are having a wonderful weekend too!
